Since the 458 Spyder does not have a glass hood insert like the 458 Italia the customer ordered a Capristo hood in carbon with glass panel. The hood had some pattern flaws in the carbon so we pre fit it to the car and decided on a game plan. The first thing was to paint the hood since the carbon made the hood look like a giant hole in the back of the car, then we decided to clear the underside to show off the carbon that matched the complete carbon engine bay. Lastly we had the glass embedded into the hood using standard rubber like the windshield is. The process took 4 weeks to complete and the car will come back for one more cut, clear and buff before it goes to SEMA.
