GM Position Statement on OEM Parts on Vehicles with ADAS

Bumper/Fascia Replacement with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) June 2018 General Motors  DOES  NOT  APPROVE  the  use  of  aftermarket,  reconditioned,  or  salvage Bumpers/Fascias on GM vehicles equipped with ADAS, according to a recent position statement released by GM.   Aftermarket, reconditioned or salvage Bumpers/Fascias may have different material specifications than what was designed, tested and validated for use with ADAS, according to the statement.

Honda OE Glass Replacement

ProFirst Position Statement Updates

On June 21, 2018, American Honda updated their position statement on glass usage. Southwest Collision is a ProFirst Certified collision repair center and has been granted access to these position statement updates in advance. These updates include the repair and replacement procedures of windshields and side glass in Honda vehicles. The position statements point out specific safety systems within Honda vehicles that are affected when glass is replaced and/or repaired.
